My name is Izabel, and I am a first-year student in Economics and Business from Kazakhstan. Collegio has played an important role in my successful adaptation to living in Rome and thriving academically.
When I signed the contract to live in this residence, I learned about the requirement to complete 70 training hours before the end of the academic year. Initially, this confused me, as I had no idea how the activities were conducted or the difficulty of attaining the hours. Looking back, however, these activities became one of the most delightful parts of my stay in Collegio and my student experience in Rome.
Collegio offers various clubs to join, each focusing on different interests:
- Cultural: My favorite activities include guided museum visits, opera tickets, and attending lectures.
- Academic: You can join societies such as Law, Economics, or Political Science.
- Creative: Students can explore by joining either music club or art club.
There is also a sports and wellness club. Swimming lessons in the sports center 10 minute walk away from the residence was one of the most anticipated activities among the students.
I appreciated how Collegio integrates technology into student life. The MAIA platform is especially convenient for registering for events and courses, tracking completed hours, and checking GPA and minimum requirements.
The facilities at Collegio are designed to enhance student life and growth. My favorite place is the library, which offers an incredible selection of classical literature, encyclopedias, and textbooks across various subjects. The library is continually growing, with students contributing to its collection, making it a dynamic and diverse resource.
Many students also love the gym, which is essential for maintaining an active lifestyle. Other facilities include the music room and the sala relax for students to rest and connect with each other after productive days..
One of the key aspects of our community is how food unites us. Sharing meals and participating in activities like international cooking classes are highlights for many students.
Additionally, Collegio offers language courses, allowing students to choose a language to learn and pass an exam to verify their proficiency.
Collegio is special for its community that strives for excellence together. Whenever someone has a question, there’s always someone eager to help and share their experience. This is especially true for students in the same course but in higher years, who often assist those in lower years. Master’s students also share valuable insights about their experiences.
The network of Collegio alumni is vast and filled with fascinating, accomplished professionals. This network helps current students explore various career paths and excel in their chosen fields. Being a part of Collegio provides immense opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Giuseppe Tovini residence embodies greatness in every sense.
This project reminds me of the best practices of American higher education in the way that Collegio supplements academic success and cultural integration with the vital skill of self-reflection. It shows commitment of Collegio to support its students on the journey of self-improvement. The personal and professional development project that students complete involves several dimensions and asks personal questions about our goals, how we can achieve them, and how Collegio can assist us in this process.
In conclusion, Collegio is a wonderful place where you can find anything you want: friends, mentors, resources for academic and professional success, opportunities to learn and explore various interests.
